Week 17

The Bump- The bump is an interesting thing I’ve learned.  Some days it is super round and other days I just have a little pooch fairly low down.  I think it depends on what I’ve eaten and how much water I’ve consumed.

Gender- Neal thinks we’re having a girl while I think we’re having a boy. We’ll see in 3 weeks!

Movement- I am definitely starting to feel some movement.  It’s the weirdest feeling ever, but it’s exciting.  I don’t feel kicks or punches yet, but it feels like I have a fish swimming and doing flops in my lower abdomen.

Maternity clothes- My clothes from Old Navy came in and although they’re super cute, I totally messed up the sizing.  I bought 1X from Plus Size, which was too small and then I bought XXL from Maternity, which was way too big.  I’m thinking of trying to stick to Old Navy Maternity and trying out some XL.  I still need to find a few dresses for the spring/early summer, but I have time.

Food cravings- Bagel breakfast sandwiches.  Oh man, even typing that makes me hungry.  I’ve been craving everything bagels topped with egg and cheese almost every day.  Thankfully, I only indulged in the craving once last week!

Workouts- Ehh… workouts at the gym weren’t my priority last week but I’m trying to get back into my 5AM routine this week.

  • Monday, March 24- 30 minutes on the elliptical
  • Tuesday, March 25 – Does running around the Minneapolis airport count?
  • Wednesday, March 26- 30 minutes on the treadmill (walking/jogging)
  • Thursday- Walk with Theodore
  • Friday- Rest
  • Saturday- Lots of cleaning!!
  • Sunday- Lots of cleaning!!

Sleep- Sleep has been awesome…. so awesome that I don’t want to wake up.

Missing anything- Nope

Thoughts and feelings-  Week 17 was a really great week.  I’m feeling great, I created a plan for getting my diet back on track, and I have a lot more energy.  I am trying to treasure the time but am also eager to get into baby mode after the 20 week anatomy scan.  I’ve told myself not to do any baby planning or prepping until then.

Things have also started taking shape around the house.  Neal and I were able to organize our basement this weekend, which was a huge task, and we’ve started to organize more things around the house.  It just feels good to be getting things in order before we start preparing for the baby.  I still need to organize our files and clean out a few storage bins in the basement, but we’re getting close!

Looking forward to- Our anatomy scan in 3 weeks!  I can not wait to see the baby again and to hopefully find out the gender.

In case you missed them, my pregnancy updates so far:
