As much as I love the fall, there’s nothing better than a beautiful spring weekend after a long winter. I kicked off the long weekend Friday morning with a fabulous workout at the gym. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, lifted weights, and then spent about 15 minutes stretching.
Once home I made a delicious breakfast, 2 eggs scrambled, turkey sausage, a Thomas bagel thin, and an orange.
After breakfast I headed to Target, Trader Joe’s, and Old Navy. I was able to get all of my errands done Friday morning, which knocked out most of my weekend to do list!
For lunch, I metroed downtown to meet Neal for lunch at Grilled Cheese DC. Neal and I absolutely loved the restaurant and our lunch was amazing! I ordered the French Onion grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup and Neal ordered the Buffalo Blue and a side of crispy tots. Both sandwiches and sides were fantastic and we can’t wait to go again!
Saturday morning Neal and I kicked off the day with a long walk with Theodore. Though there was still a chill in the air, it was a really beautiful morning!
Afterwards we ran to Costco and then to Home Depot to get a few things for the yard! A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to plant a few vegetables and herbs in the backyard, as we’re probably not going to join our CSA this year. We decided to buy tomatoes, green bell peppers, zucchini, jalapenos, cilantro, sweet basil, spearmint, and lemon balm.
As we’re just renting, I decided to plant all of our veggies and herbs in pots. I don’t know too much about gardening, but hopefully the plants will do well in these pots.
Saturday night Neal and I headed to the DC Divas home opener against the Chicago Force.
Sadly the Divas lost, but it was amazing to see all of my teammates and to enjoy a beautiful night outside. I can’t wait to play football again!!
Neal and I closed out the weekend with an Easter lunch with my Aunt Danielle at our townhouse.
For lunch I made a heirloom tomato salad, roasted fingerling potatoes, roasted asparagus, ham, and biscuits. It was an awesome end to the long weekend and a great way to celebrate Easter!
I’m overjoyed about the week ahead! Today I am 20 weeks pregnant, marking the halfway mark of my pregnancy, and on Wednesday Neal and I will hopefully find out the gender of the baby. We’re thrilled!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
