I honestly could not have asked for a better weekend. The past two weeks have been rough but this weekend really helped to turn things around.
It all started Friday when I made the decision to start making the most of my Monday through Friday! Friday night I went on an amazing date with Neal, which ended the work week on a high note and kicked off the weekend.
Saturday morning Neal and I were able to sleep in until 8AM before hanging out with Theodore and getting a few things done around the house. Around 10:30AM I headed over to American University for SELF Magazine’s first ever Workout on the Quad, which was a blast!
The only real low point to the weekend was the DC Divas loss to the Boston Militia. It was a tough game but I am incredibly proud of my team mates and how hard they worked! Our team is now 3-1, going into a bye week.
I’m excited to have a bye week this week, giving me some time to recover before we hit the field against New York on May 11 in Fairfax, VA!
I will say though, the tailgate after the game was a blast!! I enjoyed a few beers!
Sunday morning after doing things around the house, Neal and I ran over to Costco for a long overdue shopping trip. We loaded up on salsa, chicken breasts, ground turkey, turkey bacon, toothpaste, toilet paper, and paper towels… you know, the basics. We picked up a few other odds and ends and are hopefully tied over for a while!
After our Costco adventure we enjoyed brunch at the Corner Bakery.
I ordered a coffee (of course)…
and this awesome breakfast panini. It was filled with eggs, bacon, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Delicious!
For brunch, Neal ordered the bacon and tomato mac and cheese, which was fantastic!
Once home I put away the groceries and then started making a roasted vegetable pasta salad for this week’s lunches. I will share the recipe tomorrow, so be sure to come back for that!
Sunday night, Neal and I used a LivingSocial voucher fo r a dinner date at The Melting Pot.
Neal and I love the Melting Pot, but aren’t always fans of the price tag. The LivingSocial voucher was $45 for a 4 course meal for 2… so we were incredibly pumped about that!!
We enjoyed a cheese fondue, house salads, various meats and seafoods, and then a chocolate fondue for dessert. It was an amazing dinner and another fantastic date night with my hubby.
I just couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. It was much needed and I truly ended it thinking “Now that’s better…”. It just feels good to have a fun weekend and to not be going into the work week with a load on my back. I hope the week continues on that note!
