Last night Neal and I went to dinner at Mykonos Grill in Rockville, MD with our dear friends Amanda and Matt.
Neal and I have driven past Mykonos Grill in Rockville a number of times and have really been itching to go for a while now. The inside of the restaurant is elegant and comfortable, transporting you to Greece in a number of steps.
Being able to go to dinner with Matt and Amanda was a total treat. Meeting Amanda, the blogger behind Running on Waffles, was a total blessing. Sadly Amanda and Matt are moving to CA in a few weeks, but I’m so thankful to have met them this spring.
To start, we ordered the Saganaki which is a flammed pan-fried kefalograviera cheese.
It was really fun seeing them flambe the cheese table side and it was a truly delicious dish!
For dinner, each of us ordered a different dish. Matt ordered the roasted leg of lamb…
Amanda ordered the Garides Mykonos which was sauteed shrimp with feta, pine nuts, onions, raisins, tomatoes, herbs, and white wine…
Neal ordered the Bakaliaros Scordalia which was fried fresh cod served with potato garlic dip…
and I ordered the chicken kabobs, served with rice and green beans.
Our dinners were very tasty and gave each of us a great taste of Greece. There were so many dishes to choose from, giving us a lot of variety and options.
We arrived at 6PM without a reservation, but by the time we left at 7:30PM the restaurant was packed. Always a good sign!
We had a really great time at Mykonos Grill and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Greek food and a fantastic Greek atmosphere.
