The past 48 hours have been outstanding. Meeting with my nutritionist was absolutely life changing and I’ve just loved how my life has been ever since. I’ll admit that I came home Thursday night feeling overwhelmed and a little emotionally exhausted, but after blogging about my experience I started to find clarity.
Friday I woke up refreshed with an absence of pressure as I had ZERO plans to track calories, to weigh myself, or to structure my day. I started the day with 2 eggs and a whole zucchini sauteed in coconut oil.
A grande iced skim white chocolate mocha was a perfect mid morning treat and took me right up to lunch.
After a late afternoon doctors appointment I spontaneously decided to get my haircut! Eating mindfully is just one aspect of what I’m working on. I also want to improve my wellness and well-being.
For dinner… PIZZA! I had been craving pizza all week and prior to meeting with Rebecca kept telling myself no, but I realized that it’s important for me to listen to myself and then to find healthy ways to enjoy what I want.
Along side my pizza I enjoyed another sauteed zucchini and then a bowl of rainbow sherbert for dinner. Perfection! A long walk with Neal and Theodore was a perfect end to my first day eating and living mindfully.
After a great night’s sleep (10:30PM-7:30AM), I started the day with a hot cup of s’mores coffee from Target! It. Was. Delicious!
Once Neal was up we headed out for our first run for this year’s half marathon training! Although we haven’t picked a half marathon to run just yet, we are signed up for the Army 10 Miler, so we’re focusing on that. (I’ll be posting our training program this week)
One of my goals for this year is to run as much of the race as possible. In the past I’ve run intervals, walking for a set amount of time and then running for a set amount of time, but I think my body is in a place where I can run it all. Today we tackled 2.25 miles in 27 minutes and 19 seconds (326 calories burned). We ran the whole time, minus stop lights, which was awesome!
Strategically, our run ended at the Rockville Farmers Market! I had been wanting to pick up some wildflower and a few goodies…
We snagged some tomatoes (red and green), tomatillos, and basil.
Neal and I also grabbed some breakfast treats from Vera’s Bakery, including a lemon ginger scone for me and a cinnamon twist for Neal.
An iced coffee from Zeke’s Coffee rounded out our trip to the market! Love this coffee!
The best thing about the past 48 hours is that I’m really listening to myself. I enjoyed the iced coffee and scone this morning after my run, but guess what, about an hour later my stomach was growling, so I made myself some eggs.
I sauteed a tomato from the farmers market and then added two scrambled eggs. I finished the eggs with a few diced basil leaves and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. It was delicious and really hit the spot!
Overall I’m really proud of myself for living in freedom and the changes I’ve started to make. I’m scared about this next week and being consistent but my mind and body are in a great place to be successful! I’m looking forward to the rest of the weekend and just living spontaneously.
